Atibie (E/R), May 26, GNA - The Atibie Nursing and Midwifery Training College has appealed to the Health Ministry (MOH) to move quickly to post more teachers to the school.

Mrs. Paulina Osabutey, the Principal, said it had over the past decade been struggling with inadequate teachers and that things had kept worsening.

She told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that for the past 10 years, the college had been forced to use its own internally-generated funds (IGF) to hire 19 teachers.

This, she said, was putting tremendous pressure on the school's finances and made the going really tough for them.

The Principal also complained about the lack of vehicles and residential accommodation for both students and the teaching staff.

It had led to a situation where about half the student population and their teachers lived outside the campus, she added.

She indicated that, this was not helpful to effective teaching and learning and could not continue.

Mrs. Osabutey appealed for the supply of computers to enhance the teaching of information and communication technology (ICT) in the school.
