Fool’s Day: Why Religion Is Against The Idea.

Every 1st April of each year is a fool’s day according to many, but what Islam has to say about this day, its foundation has no clarity whatsoever, is our discussion today.

Anything practiced in Islam is documented, and has a reference from the Quran and the teachings of the messenger Muhammad, may the blessings and peace of God (Allah) be upon him.

In Islam whatever mankind can come up with as innovation ‘Bidi a’ will not be accepted, and could lead the owner to perish in the Hell of ‘Jahannama’, may God ‘ Allah’ protect us from the burning Fire and grant us paradise ‘Jannah’ .

In one tradition ‘Hadith’ the messenger of Allah was asked if mankind can sin, he said yes, but a true Muslim does not lie. This shows how bad lying is in Islam.

In another tradition ‘Hadith’ the Prophet (PBUH), says ‘’Truthfulness ‘Al sidiq’ is a key to success and lies ‘Kidhib’ a key to perish, a man does not lie and continue to lie until s/he registered before Allah as a liar’’.

There is no time in Islam where lying can be condoned, if it exist, then the Islamic jurists ‘Ulamas’ can guide, why and when and what are the limitations and the conditions.

It is important to recall that God ‘Allah’ fulfilled the Religion of Islam, and the prophet (PBUH) taught everything and left no stone un turned.

Allah says in Quran ‘’Today I have fulfilled your religion ‘Deen’, and I have perfected my bounty unto you and I have chosen Islam to be your Religion’’.

The messenger of Allah Muhammad (PBUH) cautioned his Ummah about following the footsteps of those who came before us.

“You will follow in the footsteps of those who came before you, step by step to the extent that if they will enter into Lizards holes, you will also enter it’’.

We must be watchful of whatever we are doing; we have no room to copy from others with matters concerning Islam, save the Quran and Sunnah.

We have our creed (deen) and they have theirs, Quran confirms that in Surat Al-Kaafiruun (You have your religion and I have mine).

It is important to each and every mankind male and female, to seek for true information, such that we do whatever we are doing with knowledge, but at the same time taking precautions not to be fed from wrong sources.

The knowledge acquired must be passed on to others including our families.

We must encourage our children to tell the truth, we have also to help them to achieve this virtue, as a parent you have to be a role model to the young ones.

There is no way you can deny your child to lie when s/he recalls very well the day you lied and fooled people on the fools day .

With or without the presence of children, we must be truthful; God ‘Allah’ has made us the middle party ‘Ummah’ such that the rest of humanity can emulate us. (Quran)

All In all fools day is not part of our religion, and whoever has been doing the fooling and lying must repent to God (Allah), for He forgives whoever goes to Him asking for forgiveness.
