Good Job, Mr Martin Amidu!!

'He who climbs the good tree is the one who is fully given the needed support', says the local proverb. The former Attorney General must be commended for his crusade to ensure truth prevails in the IsofotonSA case which has caused so many people with or without moral right to rain on him unwarranted insults and attacks.

Martin Amidu has enthusiastically been able to make the Supreme Court put on hold all proceedings in connection with the payment of judgement debt to the Spanish organization. In response, the Supreme Court has given him the backing to pursue the case to the latter until the truth prevails.

Last Thursday was an opportune time for the former AG. Justice SK Date-Bah granted the application of Martin, and said that further payments of judgement debt should be discontinued for now.

This case has been in the court for almost a year now. Although the company has already been paid $1.3million by the Ghana government, with a balance of $400,000, let us all wish Martin well as he challenges the constitutionality of such payments to the Spanish company.

It is very important as a society to stay focused, and not be blind to the truth so that the people who are willing to sacrifice their lives, despite the rejection and isolation meted out to them by their families and loved ones coupled those precipitating from within government and its institutions, and especially the media are given the support they need to help deal with corruption and other social ills to make Ghana a safer place to live and work.

He has really proved that such intimidation and attacks are useless and have no merit when the genuine and responsible man has a strong case with what he does and says.
