Tamale, April 8, GNA - Reverend Father Thaddeus Kuusah, Deputy Parish Priest of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, on Sunday said the passion of Jesus Christ should deepen the faith of Christians in God.
He said it must also encourage them to shun sinful acts and embrace good deeds.
“Let us appreciate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ by being truthful, love each other and be each other's keeper”, he said.
Rev Father Kuusah was speaking at the Easter Resurrection Service on Sunday in Tamale.
The Easter Resurrection is a Christian feast celebrated on the third day after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ at Calvary.
Rev Father Kuusah said through the death of Christ, the many sins of human kind had being wiped away, and there was the need for Christians to replicate such a sacrifice by comforting other people in sorrowful and suffering moments.
The Northern Regional Minister, Moses Bukari Mabengba who joined the congregation to celebrate the feast warned the youth against double registration during the biometric voters registration exercise, saying perpetrators should be prepared to face the full rigours of the law.
He explained that the biometric system could detect and expose all who would register twice.
The Minister said eligible voters who refused to register during the exercise would not be allowed to vote in the December elections since the old voters' registration card would not be valid.
Mr Mabengba made an undisclosed special donation towards the completion of the Paris's church project.
