A former deputy Finance Minister under the Kufuor administration has denied reports in the media he has been invited by the Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for questioning on his role in the Woyome judgment debt case.
Mr Kwaku Agyemang-Manu told Joy News he has not received any invite from the police.
A writ filed by the Attorney-General said he signed a letter which formed the basis for the payment of the GHC51 million judgment debt to Mr. Alfred Woyome.
There were reports today the police have called Mr. Agyeman-Manu for questioning. But he says the reports are false.
“I received a letter from the Attorney-General's office yesterday requesting that I comment on the introductory letter I signed for Woyome, I duly responded to it and they asked me if I had any documentation, I told them…I don't have any documentation to that effect and the letter I signed I don't even have a copy, they should contact the Ministry of Finance for all information on the files there,” he said.
The former deputy Finance minister said he was baffled by the reports that he had been invited by the police.
