FOUR ARMED robbers last Wednesday afternoon attacked the Dalabu Forex Bureau at Obuasi and made away with over GH¢ 9,000. The robbers were said to have operated with a Kia Safia vehicle with registration number GW 4617 Z.
Briefing The Chronicle about the incident, Mr. Mohammed Issaka, Manager of the Bureau said two of the robbers entered the office and held the cashiers hostage, and asked them to direct them (robbers) to his (manager) office where the monies were kept.
The Manager said he had left for the bank when the incident took place and continued that the robbers attacked and hit the two cashiers, Abibata Sulemana and Shamau Sule with guns, before bolting away with the money.
Meanwhile, the cashiers who were rushed to the Edwin Cade Hospital in Obuasi after the incident, have since been discharged. A complaint has also been lodged with the Obuasi Central police.
The Municipal commander of police, Mathew Asante confirmed the story when reached on phone and said investigations were underway.He appealed to the public to assist his offices to arrest the perpetrators
