CPP National Secretariat affirms confidence in Ashanti Regional Executive

The National Secretariat of the Convention Peoples Party (CPP), has affirmed its confidence in the Ashanti Regional Executive of the party.

It has, therefore, cautioned aggrieved members of the party to desist from acts that sought to create the impression that the Secretariat had lost confidence in the Executive because of some allegations levelled against them by certain party members in the region.

This was contained in a statement signed by Mr. Ladi Nylander, National Chairman of the CPP, and issued in Kumasi, on Tuesday.

The statement said for a couple of weeks now, some dubious reports emanating from unknown and questionable sources, had sought to publicly query the integrity of the current Regional Chairman, Mr. Samuel Danso and other executive members.

The reports were over alleged embezzlement of party funds and consequent measures to remove duly elected people from office.

“The CPP National leadership is hereby asking the public to completely ignore the rampant falsehoods being peddled by mischievous and misguided elements, since we have confidence in Mr. Danso and his executive,” the statement, said.

The statement said the leadership was also aware of similar moves being hatched in other areas and, therefore, assured all duly elected executives of the National Secretariat's unflinching support and encouragement.

They should stand firm and resolute against all provocations in the interest of the party, he said.
