No Vote Transfer Yet — E.C.

By Times Reporter -

THE Electoral Commission (EC) says it is not receiving or processing applications for transfer of votes now.

A press statement signed by Owusu Parry, acting Director of Public Affairs, reminded all District Officers not to receive or process any applications for transfer of votes until the commission officially announced the period for this exercise.

It said the EC “will come out officially with a date when genuine applicants would apply for the transfer of their votes”.

The Commission noted that some registered voters who had changed residence had been calling at the district offices to apply for such transfers, and appealed to “all genuine applicants to be patient and wait for an official announcement after which they may go to the district office where they now reside to apply for their votes to be transferred”.
