ROTARIAN DR Georgette Oppong has re-echoed the need for Ghanaians to have their Blood Pressure checked regularly.

She gave the advice when she led a team of nurses to check the blood pressure of over 200 members of the Sankofa Royal, and Panthers Keep Fit Clubs at Medina, near Accra, last Saturday.

Dr Oppong, who was assisted by Rotarian Dr Anofa Fashola, noted that uncontrolled BP resulted in many complications, hence the need for regular checks.

She averred that medical doctors do not take pleasure in treating sick people but instead enjoy dealing with healthy ones.

In that regard, Dr Oppong cautioned Ghanaians to watch their lifestyles, especially their eating habits, in order to live longer.

Explaining further, the medical Doctor warned those who enjoy taking heavy food at night to desist from the practice.

Rotarian Gloria Commodore, who organized the programme together with Rotarian Debbie Frock of the United States of America said the programme would be carried out periodically to enable as many people as possible, especially members of the various Keep Fit Clubs, know their health status.

Those whose blood pressures were above normal were advised to report to the various medical centres for further checks.
