The Aviation Social Centre has announced the rescheduling of the 3rd Annual FitXplo that was planned to have taken place from 17th to 24th November, 2007.
The week-long event has been rescheduled for 23rd February - 1st March, 2008.
Aviation Social Centre's General Manager, Brigitte Dzogbenuku, explained that “the shift in dates was to capture the spirit of CAN 2008 as it would be held around the same time.
The visitors who would be in the country at that time will have the opportunity to experience the line-up of fitness events for the week. It is our small effort to give both Ghanaians and visitors a memorable season.”
The programme would still open with the ever popular Power Walk on Saturday, 23rd February at Gyankamah, a fitness centre with a tourism atmosphere, where walkers would hike through the beautiful Aburi hills.
The Doubles Tennis Barbecue, happening on Sunday, 24th February at the Centre, would be open to all, and from Monday 25th through to Friday 29th February 2008, the Open Air Aerobics would take place at the basketball court of the Centre. That would also be open to the general public free of charge.
A Corporate Health and Fitness Seminar would be held on Thursday, 28th February, 2008.
A showdown of the various first cycle schools would come off at the Centre under the auspices of the Teens Basketball Challenge.
The Climax of FitXplo would be the Exhibition of Fitness and Health Related Products and Ghana's Strongest Man on Saturday, 1st March, 2008.
The change of dates was to maximize the impact of FitXplo.
