On a number of occasions that I have boarded taxis, the taxi drivers talk about how the road networks have improved especially the one from the Kwame Nkrumah Circle towards Achimota and its surrounding areas.
Somewhere last month I visited a friend who lives in Dansoman and I could not believe what my eyes saw, for once I thought my eyes were deceiving me, in fact, I witnessed the beginning of the construction of the gutters.
This has brought bundles of joy to the inhabitants of the area. There has never been anything of such a sort in the neighborhood and as a result of the lack of gutters, any time it rained, the streets which have been leveled so many times with sand developed huge portholes thus exposing the underground pipelines which ends up leaking for a long time.
Under this Government and the Leadership of President Kufuor, so many parts of the country have witnessed a lot of road construction. A very good example is the road from Banana Inn to Dansoman Police station which never had any trace of coal tar since I started visiting my friend. This road has been constructed and the gutters have been made for the easy drainage of water to my amazement.
Less I forget same has been done to the road from Datus Junction towards Accountant General through to Karikari (Dansoman Last Stop. The gutters constructed for this very road cuts across the Dansoman Datus School to the School's Junction.
But before I sign off let me remind you that for over ten (10) years that I have been visiting my friend in that neighborhood I have never seen any construction of gutters and roads. Take time and observe the obvious changes going on in your neighborhoods especially in road construction and give credit where it is due that this government is doing all it can to make Accra and other urban roads accessible and convenient for all citizens. I say Kudos to this government; they deserve another mandate to continue the goods works they have embarked on.
