He is a ‘banza’ Attorney General with a bad character – Sammy Gyamfi blasts Godfred Yeboah Dame

National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has descended on Attorney General Godfred Yeboah Dame, accusing him of being an unfair Minister of Justice.

According to Sammy Gyamfi, Godfred Yeboah Dame is a ‘banza’ [does not know his job] Attorney General.

Speaking to Adom FM on Friday, the NDC National Communications Officer alleged that the Attorney General is not interested in justice but prefers to misuse the law to put innocent people in prison.

“This matter proves that Godfred Dame is a ‘banza’ Attorney General. He does not have integrity and neither does he have a good attitude. He is an Attorney General who has no respect for the law. He quotes the law to use dubious means to get his way in court to imprison innocent people,” Sammy Gyamfi said.

The NDC National Communications Officer was speaking on a discussion on the ambulance purchase trial involving Dr. Ato Forson, Minority Leader.

In Court on Thursday, the third accused person in the ambulance purchase trial, Richard Jakpa accused Attorney-General Godfred Yeboah Dame of approaching him to help him implicate Minority Leader and former Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson.

The accused warned he would spill the beans to expose the Attorney General if he is pushed to the wall.

“The A-G has on several occasions engaged me at odd hours to help him make a case against A1 and I have evidence for that. If he pushes me, I will open the Pandora’s box. I don’t understand why the A-G will accuse me of defending A1 when I’m here to defend myself.

“If he pushes me, I’ll open the Pandora’s box. I have evidence to all this,” Richard Jakpa told the court.

These allegations have been denied by the Office of the Attorney General.

In a release from the Office on Thursday, it said although many people have put pressure on Godfred Yeboah Dame to discontinue the case, he has refused and allowed the law to work.
