Ghanaian broadcaster of Onua TV, Captain Smart has asserted that the recent arrest of Hopson Adorye was politically motivated, echoing similar sentiments expressed by Yaw Buaben.

Speaking on his show, "Onua Maakye," broadcast on Onua TV, Captain Smart alleged significant pressure from the President's office on the Ghana Police Service to detain Adorye over a claim related to the 2016 elections.

Captain Smart noted that government's intention behind the arrest was to divert public attention from the controversies surrounding the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) hotels sale saga, which have sparked widespread national debate.

He stated, "This government intends to destroy Ghana. They arrested Hopson Adorye to cover up the issues revolving around SSNIT. There was immense pressure on the Ghana Police from the office of the President. Their mission was to arrest Hopson so that the news would overshadow any story around SSNIT."

The veteran broadcaster, known for his outspoken views, further criticized the current administration led by President Akufo-Addo, accusing it of undermining the nation's peace.
