Tribute by Emmanuel Avala To His Late Wife Rena Avala
06 MAY 2024 LISTEN

"For everything, there is a season, a time to born, and a time to die, a time to weep, and a time to laugh, a time to mourn, and a time to dance". (Ecl: 3:1)

In fact, our ways are not the ways of God, neither our wish His wishes. It is with great sadness and heavy heart as I send this tribute to my dear wife Rena Avala.

Rena was born in Kassel-Germany in the year 1943 and she lived almost all her livelihood in Hamburg. She worked in various establishments which included: Taxi Driving, Pharmacy sales Assistant, Works Secretarial jobs, etc, and finally ended up at "American Pizza Firma" in Hamburg-Norderstedt, where both of us happened to be Employees and there we met each other and also started our relationship which consequently rounded up to a marriage under ordinance in Accra-Ghana in 1997. Thereafter the marriage, I joined Rena in Hamburg, and we lived together as a unified and lovely family.

I can sincerely stand to testify that, it was Rena's efforts that I got a permanent employment at "ALEX Restaurant" where I am still working. Rena was a very good-hearted wife and a Mother. And she showed kindness to everybody without discrimination. The white, the black or coloured foreigners came to Rena for all sorts of assistance. These including: German official letter translations, Escorting vulnerable aliens to see Lawyers, Accommodation problems, caring for children, babysitting, and many others.

Based on this, she earned the title "The Great Generous Philanthropist". From what I did recollect, Rena happened to accept Ghana as her second home besides Germany. She used to spend her holidays and vacations so as to pay visits to my relatives down to Aflao in the Volta Region of Ghana. She knew the Accra suburbs like: Alajo, Mallam Atta, Dansoman, Madina, and others. She once went to Botifalls in the Eastern part of Ghana.

"No wonder, when she was on her sick bed, she dreamt of going back to Ghana for holidays but her health did not permit it.

I will always remember Rena for all the good deeds she did for me, the Allermohe community, and other families. "Finally, Mensah, Peter and Felicia wish to send their appreciations to you for your love and concerns. Our beloved Rena, you're gone but not forgotten"

I was filled with sorrow when I was informed that she passed on.

As my dear wife, RENA AVALA is being put to rest, I hope that you find peace and comfort wherever you are.

Fare thee well,
Xede, Nyuie,
Nante Yiye.
