Every rail or railway incident, accident or disaster of any magnitude, is regarded a serious matter all across the world. So far what we are being told about the recent rail incident is a bit whimsical...mansa musa writes ✍

Now, let's be clear here. If it turns out to be true that this was a deliberate attempt at sabotage, I will command thunder and brimstone onto the house and families of whoever is behind it

So, about this train, on a test run, that crashed into a truck packed on rail tracks.

We need more questions answered for us to put meaning to all and to everything.

Obviously, this was supposed to be a pure technical/engineering test to ascertain and corroborate all relevant safety requirements of all moving and non-moving parts of a newly built railway project.

So, accepting the assumption of just a technical test run, we can all agree why there wasn't a big fanfare with the railway minister and the commander in chief with his vice in toe, all on board the train. Thank God for that.

Now, let's try and make sense of everything that has happened.

1. Before the test run begins, were all the risk assessments in all safety manuals exhausted, both in theory and in operational practice?

2. In light of the scanty information we have, we can only assume that this was the first test of many tests required in construction and industrial laws and regulations before a project is considered safe for public participation.

3. If it was one of a series of initial tests, surely there should be a mandatory or strict policy on the number of persons on board and the speed that the train should travel at various trial stages. I,e, the train speed during 1st test run will be from say, 0 to 20 km/ph for a distance of about 30km. Then the speed and number of passengers will increase in the next test runs untill excellent satisfaction on quality/safety assurance is achieved. So we must be told what stage of the series of tests has this unfortunate incident happened, i.e., was it the 1st, the 2nd, or the last test run.

4. Now, on the incident/accident proper:
(a). At what speed was the train travelling.
(b). How many people were on board.
(c). The onboard real-time camera. Is the video footage shown to public genuine? If not where is the real one. If what we've seen was tempered with, by who and why?

Now, the validity of both the video and still pictures of the incident are being disputed. In fact, Mr. Peter Amewu, the minister in charge of rail affairs, has come out to say a photo posted on his official Facebook page was a photo-shopped, that means fake and so, it has been removed.

In some juridictions, the minister will be called to account to the people via the national parliament. But that's a topic for another time.

This whole thing is creating more confusion and raising more questions. And somewhere along the line, we can safely say we are being lied to.

We need the true facts.
Where are the true facts, in video formats and in pictures.

Now, if what has so far been thrown into the public domain can not be relied upon, where are the real and true photographs of the incident/accident scene. Where are the rear end and front cabin of the vehicle.

How come that my fellow Ghanaians with that primitive attitude of posting faces of dead people on social media, now there are no photos from the people who have been to the scene. Not one picture taken by an inquisitive bystander? Or bystanders? Not one?

Now, let's be clear here, if it turns out to be true that this was a deliberate attempt at sabotage, I will command thunder and brimstone onto the house and families of whoever is behind this.

Has investigation proved that the driver and his vehicle got stuck on the tracks, or it was left there deliberately.

The enormity and the potential catastrophe this criminal act could have caused can never be described as minor or negligible, a misdemeanour. This is or was or should be a crime of the highest magnitude. So why has the driver been jailed so leniently and so quickly.

If the vehicular underpass provided isn't appropriate enough, ie, no adequate height room for large trucks, that does not permit anyone to find or make their own illegal level crossing over live railway tracks. That is called trespassing. We demand accountability. We want transparency.

I don't want to bore you guys with too much reading, especially on a lazy Saturday. So let's leave it here and wait for more answers. Thank you.
