The NPP Parliamentary candidate for Tamale South Constituency, Alhaji Fuseini Musah, has initiated the dredging of Kobilmahagu Dam, situated near Gbewaa Residential Area.
Once a vital water source for the communities of Kobilmahagu, Kukuo, Jakarayili, and parts of Vittin within the Tamale South Constituency, the dam had sadly dried up, causing significant hardships, particularly for women reliant on it for daily water needs.
Today, on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Alhaji Fuseini Musah, accompanied by his team and NPP Constituency Executives under the leadership of Chairman Mozieli, visited the community to mark the beginning of the dam's dredging process.
This initiative is a crucial component of Alhaji Fuseini Musah's broader agenda to address the pressing needs and developmental challenges faced by the residents of Tamale South Constituency, who have endured scarcity and neglect during the tenure of the incumbent NDC Member of Parliament for nearly two decades.
The esteemed Chief of the community, Nyab Kpamahinaa, graced the occasion and expressed profound gratitude for the timely intervention, recognizing its significance in alleviating water shortages, especially during the dry season when the dam becomes unusable.
In attendance were also women of all ages, eager to witness the commencement of the dredging process. Some shared poignant accounts of the hardships they endured due to the dam's inability to sustain their daily activities, such as household chores, bathing, and laundry.
Remarkably, these women pledged their unwavering support for Alhaji Fuseini Musah in the upcoming December 7 Parliamentary elections, citing his exceptional leadership qualities of compassion, care, and empathy towards the community.
In his closing remarks, Alhaji Fuseini Musah expressed gratitude to the revered Chief and the community members of Kobilmahagu and surrounding areas. He also announced plans to extend similar dredging efforts to other dams in neighboring communities like Kakpagyili, Jakarayili, Kalariga, and Fooshegu.
This transformative initiative signals a new era of progress and development aimed at safeguarding the well-being of the community and fostering greater prosperity for all.
