Mahama’s 24-hour economy proposal sends shivers down the spine of Dr. Bawumia and NPP

Any well-thinking Ghanaian cannot but side with the 24-hour economy proposition (businesses and companies operating a 3-shift system with 8 hours per shift) by former President Mahama, the NDC Presidential candidate for the 2024 general elections in December.

This 24-hour economy proposition by former President Mahama is indeed a ‘game changer’ to halt the worsening youth unemployment situation and general hardships in Ghana now.

Whilst this 24-Hour Economy proposal will deliberately target highly crucial industries in the agro-processing, pharmaceutical, construction, manufacturing, extractive, leisure and hospitality, financial sectors, etc. sectors to create more decent jobs and inject vitality into Ghana’s economy, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the NPP Party are so troubled and worried about this ‘game changer’ proposal by Mahama and the NDC Party.

Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy proposal has indeed sent paralyzing shivers down the spine of Dr. Bawumia and NPP for obvious reasons. Before touching on the restlessness of Dr. Bawumia and NPP Party with respect to the ‘game changer’ proposal of Mahama, let me briefly remind readers on the efficacy and benefits of this potent economic policy proposed by the former President and the NDC Party for implementation when voted into office come December 7, 2024.

Firstly, this 24-Hour Economy proposal will not only lead to the creation of more decent and well-paying jobs but also target industrialization in various sectors of the economy to expand and grow. This 24-Hour Economy proposal will then have rippling effects on the general economy and living conditions of family members who will benefit from employed relatives absorbed through this ‘game changer’ economic policy.

It is, thus, baffling to me to read about NPP elements including the ‘Economic Strategist’ of the NPP Party, Dr. Bawumia for lampooning this great economic policy proposal of Mahama for political expediency. This narrative of the disappointing, insensitive and ‘dying’ elephant (NPP) will no longer deceive Ghanaian Voters on Mahama’s 24-Hour Economy proposal, which will bring hope to the teeming youth in the country.

For me, this Mahama’s 24-hour economy proposition confirms that the NDC Party and former President Mahama are a trusted and better alternative to the corruption-riddled and insensitive governing NPP regime led by Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia.

Understandably, the Flagbearer of the NPP, Dr. Bawumia was taken by surprise regarding the popularity and efficacy of Mahama’s 24-hour economy proposal which spells doom for Dr. Bawumia’s Presidential chances in the December 7, 2024 general elections.

Mahama’s 24-hour economy proposal has been roundly accepted by all well-meaning Ghanaians and various key stakeholders in the country except a few NPP elements. This economic policy proposition will inure to the benefit of all Ghanaians including NPP members too.

Therefore, Voters should choose the NDC Party and former President Mahama in the upcoming general elections to make it possible for the implementation of this far-reaching economic policy proposal in the next Mahama/NDC government in 2025.

Ghanaians will also benefit from other transformative policies on anti-corruption, tax reforms, and establishment of an ‘Accountability Commission’ to make sure the NPP government account to Ghanaians on their stewardship as well as building the Ghana we all want and be part of her.

The NDC and Mahama are the obvious choice in the 2024 Parliamentary and Presidential elections to bring change in the governance of our dear country and ensure sustainable development for all.
