Is the battle no longer the Lord's?

Is the battle no longer the Lord's?

Fire is one of the important elements such as water and air needed to complete life cycle, and the absence of any of these will destroy the balance of the cycle. However, fire could be very dangerous and destructive if not handled well.

Many, many years ago, on 2nd September, 1666 to be precise, a tragedy happened in London - the Great Fire of London. Hundreds of thousands of people were left homeless. 13,000 private dwellings were destroyed, numerous public buildings including churches, markets, prisons, etc., were burnt down.

Samuel Pepys, a diarist, gave a dramatic first-hand account of what happened. Pepys, who was a clerk of the Privy Seal, hurried off to inform King Charles II about the fire. The King immediately ordered that all the houses in the path of the fire should be pulled down to create a 'fire-break'. This was done with hooked poles, but to no avail as the fire outstripped them!

By the 4th September, half of London was in flames. The King himself joined the fire fighters, passing buckets of water to them in an attempt to quell the flames, but the fire raged on. In the end, by 6th September, 1666, only one fifth of London was left standing! But amazingly only six people had died.

In the immediate aftermath of the fire, a poor demented French watchmaker called (Lucky) Hubert, confessed to starting the fire deliberately: justice was swift and he was rapidly hanged. It was sometime later however that it was realised that he could not have started it, as he was not in England at the time!

As much as this story on fire is regretful, there is another, the threat of hellfire and damnation which has been prescribed for unrepentant sinners. And though many believe hellfire punishment becomes applicable after death, others believe it can happen both before and after passing away.

And it is amazing how some people could attempt to "use God and dump Him." Before the 2016 elections, a group of people said they are relying on God and that the battle is the Lord's.

Seven years later, they have forgotten about God and are now claiming that they will "Break the Eight" through strategies.

I have a message for them according to Galatians 3:3 the Bible says, "Are you so foolish? After starting in the Spirit, are you now finishing in the flesh?"

God must be indeed angry, and I would not be surprised if He shows up on December 7.
