Kwesi Pratt has voiced deep concern over the state of Ghana's democracy following the recent New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries held last Saturday.

His remarks were prompted by reports of some aspirants distributing huge amounts of money, as well as offering items such as motorbikes, fridges, and television sets to NPP delegates.

The event was marred by violence, particularly at the voting center in Yendi, where ballot papers were torn, preventing the completion of the counting process.

Addressing the situation on Peace FM's "Kokrokoo" morning show in a panel discussion, Kwesi Pratt expressed disgust at the behavior exhibited by delegates in Yendi.

"Is this democracy?" Pratt questioned, highlighting the violence that occurred in Yendi.

The Electoral Commission (EC) officially distanced itself from the supposed results declared in the Yendi constituency, referencing the destruction of 489 ballots that remained to be counted.

In reaction to these developments, Kwesi Pratt went on to assert that Ghana's democracy has been seriously battered under the Akufo-Addo government.

"We have destroyed our democracy...We have ruined it.

"Things are not going well at all. So, stop tickling yourselves," Pratt added.
