NDC UK & Ireland elections are facing issues, as Alex Segbefia aims to influence the voting register to favour his preferred candidates. After a three-month process, an electoral register, which didn't advantage Segbefia's candidates, was compiled by the NDC UK and Ireland Chapter EC. To revise this, Segbefia urged the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the NDC in Accra to create a five-member interim committee (Chapter Interim Committee- CIC) to recompile the register, which took five months. The final register was similar to the original, accepting 100% of its work but including 68 new names, some linked to alleged vote-buying by allies of Segbefia's preferred candidates.

Segbefia extended the appeal period for the final register, allegedly to allow more appeals from his allies. Even then, Segbefia's allies were not satisfied, resulting in Chief Sofo Azorka and Hon. Zuwera Ibrahim putting immense pressure on Segbefia to further change the register. These manipulative tactics are causing concern about the NDC UK and Ireland Chapter electoral process's integrity and undermine democratic principles. The situation reflects the need for monitoring and fair play in the electoral process.

This situation raises serious concerns about the integrity of the electoral process within the NDC UK and Ireland chapter. It is troubling that allies of Segbefia's preferred candidates are attempting to manipulate the register by submitting petitions that were previously rejected. This raises questions about fairness and transparency within the party.

Furthermore, the actions of Segbefia, including working with the current NDC UK chapter secretary behind the chapter Treasurer's back and pressuring branches to pay dues for disqualified voters, suggest a clear attempt to favor certain candidates and undermine the established electoral process.

The lack of clear answers regarding the role and trustworthiness of the new 3 member FEC committee and the sidelining of the previously established CIC also raise concerns about the overall transparency and fairness of the NDC UK and Ireland Chapter electoral proceedings.

The FEC needs to address these issues promptly and take action to prevent any further manipulation or bias. The integrity of the NDC UK and Ireland Chapter’s electoral process must be protected to uphold democratic principles and ensure a fair and inclusive outcome.
