The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has denied claims by some members of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) that it is behind the injunction filed against their upcoming primaries.

The Director of Legal Affairs of the NDC, Abraham Amaliba in an interview on Accra-based TV3’s ‘Big Issue’ on Friday, accused the NPP of interfering in the NDC primaries.

He quizzed, "We know they are sponsoring these things. Nana Obiri Boahen said he foresees a court case, truly, it has come to pass. Is Nana Obiri Boahen a soothsayer?"

However, NPP Communications Director Richard Ahiagba said it was 'irresponsible and laughable' for the NDC to blame the NPP for their own problems.

According to him, the opposition party is just incompetent in handling their own elections.

In a tweet on Friday, Ahiagba said "The idea that the NPP is behind the NDC's incompetent handling of their internal election processes is irresponsible and laughable.

"The NDC must tell Ghanaians just how the NPP from its Headquarters, is preventing the NDC from compiling a credible delegates list, album, or whatever they choose to call it," he added.
