Hon. Asiedu Nketiah of the NDC also popularly known as General Mosquito is no stranger to the public but I have not personally met him so far. In fact, I have admired him from a distance for the following reasons.

His sense of humor
General Mosquito’s sense of humor in discussing serious national issues cannot be ignored. In watching him far away from Germany on the Probe of Joy News, TV3 as well as other Twi speaking stations in Ghana sometime ago, he has always exposed the incredibly shambolic Nana-Bawumia-led policies with dexterity and appropriateness interspersed with his sense of humor to drum home his cogent points.

His humility and humble leadership
Since becoming the General Secretary of the NDC, Hon. Asiedu Nketiah has often exuded humble leadership skills both in and out of the NDC circles. I have observed him on countless occasions and he made his unwavering views on faulty NPP policies to expose their weaknesses without insults.

His fearless
One sterling quality of Hon. Asiedu Nketiah is his fearless submissions on national issues in the country. He says it as it is and that usually put the governing NPP always on edge whenever he speaks. General Mosquito’s presence in Parliament during that rancorous 2022 budget approval and well as his appointment to a committee in parliament caused a huge discomfort in the camp of the NPP.

His current ambition to be the national chairman of the NDC after serving the Party as the General Secretary for almost 2 decades is in order. The NDC needs a caliber of Hon. Asiedu Nketiah to breathe heightened dynamism, fearlessness and enthusiasm into the Umbrella family in readiness for 2024 victory for the NDC. I wish all comrades a successful 10th congress on Saturday.
