Almost every thrives on support. Good ideas need our support, businesses, as well as the environment, need support. As Wendell Berry said, “the Earth is what we all have in common.” It is in this commonest that we all need to care for the environment.

It is wonderful to have individuals contribute in a diverse way to making the environment better. These contributions may come in varying ways, from tree planting, recycle and the manufacturing of PET flakes.

Premiere Waste Ghana contributes to caring for the environment by providing low-cost plastic waste recovery, collections, and recycling infrastructure to produce PET flakes.

The value chain in the plastic sector has had enormous support in Ghana. This support helps Premier Waste Ghana to do more by educating schools, communities, churches, and markets place about economic and environmental impacts on plastic waste.

The impact of what is done at Premier Waste Ghana continues to draw support and this time it was beyond imagination. Premier Waste Ghana hosted representatives from SNV Ghana and Ambassadors from European Union countries on 27th October 2021. This included H. E. Irchad Razaaly and his delegation, Deputy Ambassador at the Royal Norwegian Embassy, H. E. Kyrre Holm and his delegation, reps from UN Capital Development Fund, and the team from SNV Ghana.

A lot of discussions went on during the visit. The Chief Executive Officer of Premier Waste, Mr. Edmund Arthur Brown, took represents through the process of operation and highlighted how green it is. Also, it was mentioned that the activities of Premiere Waste provide green employment to over one hundred and seventy-five (175) individuals directly and indirectly. In addition, green enterprise is a fertile work for women employable and premier waste provide women employable opportunity and support.

The visit was thrilling and encouraging as well as strengthening the work to knowing how little action goes a long way to caring for the environment and giving second life to plastic waste.

Premier Waste Ghana like other Green entrepreneurs had received enormous support from GrEEn Incubation Programme and business advisory support from SNV Ghana towards building eco-inclusive SMEs.

The environment is nature. As Leo Tolstoy said, “One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between man and nature shall not be broken.”
