New Patriotic Party (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for Manhyia South constituency, Dr. Hon. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has targeted a staggering 95 percent of valid votes cast in his constituency to help renew the mandate of the NPP during the December 7 polls.

This, according to the PC, will be 5 percent more of the 90 percent of votes target in the constituency, a task giving to the constituency by the Ashanti Regional NPP, because he is confident that the teeming NPP members in the constituency can make it happen.

Napo, as he is being called in the political circles, gave the assurance when speaking during the official inauguration of the Manhyia South NPP Election Campaign Team on Sunday, August 30, 2020.

The campaign committee, which is made up of 30 active NPP members in the constituency, is co-chaired by Napo and the Manhyia South Constituency NPP Chairman, Gabriel Anane.

The committee has been mainly tasked to lead the party to win an avalanche of votes on December 7.

“Our Party has tasked us to win 90 percent of votes on December 7 but I know we can do better than that by winning a whopping 95 percent of the valid votes cast,” NAPO confidently said.

Napo, who is the incumbent NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South and seeking a renewal of his tenure in December, stated emphatically that the NPP government has done a yeoman’s job in political office, for which reason the party should easily win the polls.

He admonished the NPP members to campaign on the numerous positive achievements of the President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration in political office in order to woo more voters, especially the undecided voters, to cast their ballot for the NPP to retain political power.

“This year we shall be going on a house-to-house to campaign for votes and I am urging you to campaign on our achievements because they are many so we can win the floating voters. Let the people know that voting for NPP would be of immense benefit to them,” he charged the supporters.

“When you go to campaign just to tell them to vote four more years for Nana Addo to continue free SHS, for better roads, hospitals, schools, infrastructure, jobs and all the other positive programmes you can think of”, Napo, who is the Minister of Education advised the NPP members.

Napo, who sounded very confident, announced that the party would immediately form other campaign teams among the polling station and electoral area coordinators, saying “this campaign teams are very important because they live among the grassroot members in society”.

The Ashanti Regional NPP Organizer, Francis Adomako aka ‘Francois’, in his succinct remarks, said he believes in the able leadership style of Napo, therefore he is confident that the Manhyia South NPP “as usual, would be the pace setters in the journey for NPP victory on December 7”.

The Ashanti Regional NPP Deputy Youth Organizer, Yahaya Salifu, who inaugurated the campaign committee, entreated the NPP members to unite as one family, with a common destiny, so that they could campaign assiduously to amass more votes for the party during the polls.

Gabriel Anane, the Manhyia South NPP Chairman and Nana Kwaku Duah, the Council of Elders Chairman, in their separate addresses, called for hard work and unity in the party to help secure victory in December. Haruna Alhassan, the NPP Secretary for Manhyia South, also highlighted Napo’s massive achievements in the constituency so far.

Free SHS Policy

Napo, who is credited for the introduction of the free SHS policy, which has increased enrolment in Senior High Schools, sternly warned that ex-President Mahama and his National Democratic Congress (NDC) hates the free SHS policy so the electorates should reject the NDC.

“Any mistake to vote for the NDC would result in the cancellation of the free SHS programme, which is benefiting virtually every household in the country. The NDC doesn’t have Ghana at heart so don’t fall for their blatant lies. Vote to retain the NPP in political office”.
