The revamped 10 th edition of Miss Malaika starts airing in TV on July 29, with the promise of exciting new twists and turns guaranteed to pique the interest of patrons of the beauty reality series. As the series begins airing this Sunday on GH-One Entertainment TV, all fingers are crossed to witness just how much of a difference this season will present.
As part of the 10 th anniversary celebrations, organisers have switched some aspects of the competition to maintain the pageant's position as the leader in pageantry in Ghana. One major change was that there would be no evictions once the finalists had been chosen. The competition, according to the organisers, would open with 20 semi-finalists who would take part in a stiff semi-final showdown scheduled to take place in Kumasi late August. From this stage, 10 finalists would be chosen to continue the series.
To the relief of the delegates and their supporters, the dreaded evictions would not be a feature at this year's competition once the final 10 delegates were chosen. All ten finalists would compete week-on-week until the final event slated for late October.
The 10 Queens; 10 Project theme, was going to be another one of the innovations this year's competition would feature. The 10 finalists would each undertake a special charity project as part of the competition.
The main viewers' participation this year would be in the selection of the final 10 out of the 20 semi-finalist. Delegates would campaign for votes while patrons could ensure that their favourite delegate made it to the final list by texting their names to the short code 1757, on all networks.
The competition was being sponsored by Lux Beauty Soap, Air Namibia, KIA and UB. The rest were Legacy Hotels, Dark & Lovely Body Lotion, ATL, Safina Water, Simbins, Beige Village, Paba Cosmetics, Abrantie and Budget Rent-A-Car
The Miss Malaika Ghana 2012, would take home a brand new car, an annual salary, cosmetics and an exciting wardrobe fit for a Queen.
To win these amazing prizes, the winner must be beautiful, intelligent, charitable, creative, bold, eloquent, bold, courageous, confident, positive and assertive.
