Local Twi actor Katawere, born Ebenezer Donkor, is starring in new movie titled 'Masqueraders' alongside some of the crème de la crème of Ghana's movie industry including bubbly actress Lydia Forson and  Nollywood director/actor Desmond Elliot, who are both ambassadors of rLG phones.

The rest are African Movie Academy Award winner Adjetey Annang and lead actor of Shirley Frimpong Manso's 'Checkmate', Senanu Gbedawu, who are among the best actors Ghana has now.

This is the first time Katawere, who is noted for starring in only Twi movies, will be acting with this category of actors.

His role in the movie is thus anticipated to be his transition from Twi movies to English movies to make fortunes.

He plays the role of an uncle who connives with his lawyer against his niece Nana Yaa Boateng (Lydia) and nephew, Kwesi Boateng (Senanu).

The movie is a short Christmas comedy directed by Xavier Irijs from Brussels, Belgium, who is directing for the first time in Ghana and the second time in Africa.

The story is created by Lydia Forson and her manageress Habiba Nelson and produced by Zedec Entertainment, while lighting is being handled by Bob J.

Katawere said he has shot a number of movies but his experience on this set is far different.

'No foreigner has directed me before; the camera man is also a foreigner. I can see my post has gone high. I have gone past Hollywood,' he jovially told BEATWAVES last Saturday on the movie's set at Mataheko.
