Accra, Aug. 1, GNA - Oman FM, a local radio station in Accra, has organised a musical concert to interact with its cherished listeners to commemorate its third anniversary.

The concert dubbed "Oman FM Bash," saw a host of Ghana's famous stars from all Ghanaian music circles such as gospel, hip life and highlife, who performed and thrilled hundreds of music lovers on their feet for several hours.

Speaking in an interview with Ghana News Agency (GNA), Mr Kwabena Kwakye, Director for Radio of Oman FM, said the show was to offer a platform for the Station to show appreciation to listeners for their commitment and loyalty for the past three years.

He said it was also to help to promote the country's music and to show the Station's belief and passion for the indigenous music.

"We appreciate music and this is the platform to prove our belief in the authentic Ghanaian music" he stated.

Mr Kwakye expressed appreciation to listeners and urged them to remain dedicated to the programmes and activities of the Station in its efforts in shaping the nation.

He said despite its pro New Patriotic Party sentiments, the Station had tried over the years to give equal opportunity to all the political parties in the country.

Popular gospel artistes like Cecelia Marfo, Tagoe Sisters, Evangelist Diana Asamoah, Willie and Mike, Kweku Gyasi and DSP Kofi Sarpong, among others "fed" the excited crowd with powerful inspirational songs to lift up their souls to the glory of the Lord.

The gospel music was followed by other brilliant performances from some celebrated highlife and hip life stars like Sarkodie, Obrafuor, Slim Buster, Castro, Lord Kenya, Kwabena Kwabena, Geoge Darko and Jewel Ackar, who entertained the ecstatic crowd till the following day.
