Ghanaian actor Prince David Osei has called on Ghanaians to give Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia the opportunity to lead the country in the upcoming 2024 elections.
In an interview with Accra FM on Wednesday, February 28, the pro-NPP entertainer argued that former President John Mahama had already had his chance and it is time for a new person.
According to him, what exactly Mahama is coming to finish, pointing out that the NDC flagbearer had adequately served the nation in various capacities including as an Assemblyman, MP, Minister, Vice President and President.
"Personally, I don't know what else [Mahama] wants to come and do but if Ghanaians feel he's the right man, who am I to judge?" David Osei stated.
The movie star suggested it is time to "pick someone else"—Dr. Bawumia, to lead the country after his boss, President Akufo-Addo’s tenure.
Prince David hailed the Vice President's achievements in digitalization through initiatives like mobile money and the Ghana Card, which he said has helped curb crimes.
"If you give such a person, the opportunity, he'll do more," Prince David praises Bawumia.
