A Ghanaian comedian, Michael Blankson has painted a picture of his home country as a peaceful one where safety and security are not major concerns for citizens and visitors.

In a discussion on Drink Champs, Michael Blankson, who has achieved international fame, praised his home country's peaceful nature in a recent interview.

He said, "Ghana is peaceful, nothing happens to you. You go out and you make it home at night. There is no violence, nobody gets killed. There's no shoot out. Nothing!"

Blankson contrasted Ghana's safety with that of the United States, where violence is more common, "In America, you might not make it home at night time," he said, adding "Trust me, in Ghana, you go out, you go to the club and come back home at night time."

He also addressed a recent incident where an American pop star Meek Mill, apparently filmed an R-rated music video inside Ghana's Jubilee House, the equivalent of the presidential White House, without permission.

Blankson attributed this to the perception that Ghana is very peaceful and welcoming. "He probably felt at home. He felt he was home and that he could probably do whatever he wanted," Blankson said.

However, he noted that Ghana is typically "a very strict country" with restrictions on what can be captured or film in high places like the Jubilee House.
