Ghanaian rapper and singer Denning Edem Ahotor, known in showbiz as Edem says he is testing the pulse of Ghanaians, especially his fans when he posted a flyer of himself planning to contest the parliamentary race in the opposition NDC.

The singer on Tuesday, release a flyer on his social media handles which had the designs of the opposition NDC.

He, however, released another flyer with the colors of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), indicating his supposed affiliation with them as well.

Initially, people believed he was eyeing the Keta parliamentary seat on the ticket of the NDC.

But Edem noted in a follow-up post that it was just to know the reactions of Ghanaians.

The experiment, according to him, was to, among other things, test the fact-checking machinery in Ghanaian media and how swiftly it disseminates information without proper verification.

He also wanted to know, according to his explanation in the follow-up post, how Ghanaian society reacts to such news and whether people are encouraged to join politics.

His post reads, “SOCIAL EXPERIMENT. Are Ghanaians tolerant of divergent views in Politics, and do media houses verify facts on information gotten before making it news?” he quizzed.

Also, “Are people excited to see more young people take up Political Positions?”
