Ghanaian reggae-dancehall singer Stonebwoy has opined on the success of the Nigerian music industry.

According to Stonebwoy, high-profile Nigerian artists like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Davido, and others always confess to finding inspiration in Ghana.

In an interview on the popular Breakfast Club show on New York-based Power FM on Tuesday, January 31, the six-time VGMA reggae-dancehall singer of the year admitted it’s just normal that in a battle of two music industries (Nigerian and Ghanaian), one will definitely be ahead, and that’s currently Nigeria.

Even at that, the "Gidigba" hitmaker noted that he and other colleagues in Ghana are also doing their best to ensure positive growth in the industry.

“Interestingly, every of their top-lister, find inspiration in Ghana. Burna says it often, Wizkid literally lives in Ghana, Davido is like a brother that’s 24/7 we’re together. We’re all playing our individual roles together out there we cannot all be in the front seat.

“Our local musicians (Ghanaian artists) are really putting in their best and I believe that with them, they’ll rock shoulders with their Nigerian colleagues in the music industry,” he stated.

Stonebwoy attributed the success of the Nigerian music industry to the larger size of its population.
