Raphael Kofi Attachie, widely known as Camidoh has opined on the low level of investment in the Ghanaian music industry.

Nigerians, he said, spend at least $30,000 on a music video while Ghanaian artists only spend fewer amounts such as GHS12,000 for a music video.

This according to Camidoh, makes it impossible for Ghanaian singers to match up with Nigerian singers.

"In Nigeria, you pay like US$30,000 standard, US$40,000. If you want to be like them, you have to think of a US$50,000 budget for your release.

"You can't release a music video in Nigeria and think that you are going to spend GH¢12,000. Your music won't do anything. It is about putting in; that's how you make it back," he said.

After making his submission, the Sugarcane crooner in the Accra-based Hitz FM’s interview said he used to sit sing for customers of his mother who used to sell local drinks and other items, particularly the female customers.

Camidoh noted that the idea was very helpful as his mother, who was a headmistress at Ola Girls Senior High School, always had her drinks and snacks sold out.

Apart from his unique voice, he said the ladies were coming back frequently to have a look at his handsome face.

"I used to help my mom sell, and I was loving it.

"I used to sing, and girls loved the music, so they used to come and buy more so that they could get the chance to listen to me and look directly into my face," he asserted.
