The 3Music Awards winner has gained a tremendous following and worldwide appeal from DJ Khaled, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, and others.
In June 2022, Black Sherif reached 100 Million Boomplay streams.
His popular tune Kwaku The Traveller had 75 million streams in its first week, spawning a viral TikTok challenge. Black Sherif is Ghana’s second BET Hip Hop Award nominee.
In 2019, Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie won the newly established category, defeating Falz (Nigeria), Ghetts (U.K.), Kalash (France), Lil Simz (U.K.), Nasty C (South Africa), and Tory Lanez (Canada).
