Ghanaian highlife musician, Kofi Nti, has threatened to take legal action against Nigerian-American singer, Rotimi, for allegedly 'sampling' his song without his permission.

Kofi Nti accused the Nigeria singer of “stealing” lines from his song, Ndwom, featuring Ofori Amponsah.

He told Akwesi Ampofo, host of Time brunch on Time FM in Obuasi, that his lawyers were putting things together to take legal action against the US-based singer.

Rotimi's song, Mega Love, featuring Afro B on his 2019 released EP, The Beautiful Beginning, has lyrics from Kofi Nti's song, Odo Nwom, released in 2004. It featured Ofori Amponsah.

The lyrics, “O Waee”, sang by Ofori Amponsah, is reproduced in Rotimi's song with a similar melody.

Rotimi recently gave Ghanaian singer, Mr. Drew, a copyright strike on YouTube, after the latter used his Love Riddim to produce Eat featuring Stonebwoy.

Kofi Nti, who has been in the Ghanaian music industry for over two decades and with a number of hit songs to his credit, has worked with a number of highlife musicians, which include Daddy Lumba, Ofori Amponsah and the late Kofi B among others.
