It was not just a tense moment for the remaining 11 delegates of Miss Malaika but also the audience and the three god sisters who had gathered at the studios of GhOne to watch the final eviction of the competition which was held last Thursday.

Not even the 'comfort' approach of interacting with the delegates adopted by Papa John Bentsifi and past Miss Malaika beauty queen, Ama Nettey who were MCs for the night could calm their nerves.

Aisha, Abigail, Eugenia and Lordina were the names that came up for possible eviction for gaining low votes. At the end, 19-year-old former student of Christi Catholic SHS, Eugenia Bobonye was evicted.

The eviction night also saw the awarding of prizes to the winners of the various competitions. Naa Oyoe won the best cultural display for her naming ceremony rites of the Gas.

Betty Afrifa, 22, won the Best Catwalk for the fashion night and Lois Nana Akua Dapaah took the best designs and Best Lux Commercial.

In an interview with Showbiz after her eviction, a rather calm Eugenia said that even though she was quite disappointed, no one could be blamed but her fans who failed to vote massively for her to see her through to the finals. She wished the remaining delegates well.

The remaining delegates who will battle it out at the National Theatre on October 12 this year for the title of Miss Malaika 2013 are Twumwaa, Priscilla, Yoda, Selma, Lordina, Aisha, Abigail, Naa Oyoe, Betty and Lois.

This year's Miss Malaika is sponsored by Lux, Air Namibia, Rana Motors, Crown Paints, Simbins Furniture, Sandra Ice Cream, ATL Fabrics, Lydia Contraceptives and Kwaku David Photography.

Miss Malaika is a GhOne TV initiative with support from Charterhouse.
