Obuasi Ashanti Gold has climbed to the summit of the standings of the ongoing 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League season after defeating Dreams 1-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Miners have been on a difficult spell recently after failing to amass maximum points in their last 2 matches against Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Liberty Professionals.
In a Match Week 11 fixture of the campaign, Ashanti Gold has put up a good fight to ensure they bounced back.
The first half of the counter with Dreams FC ended in a stalemate with limited chances created by either side. A pulsating encounter in the second half, however, produced a goal to decide who earns all 3 points.
An own goal scored by Abdulai Ibrahim did the trick for Ashanti Gold who celebrated at the end of the 90 minutes, beating their matchday opponent by a lone goal to nil.
The Obuasi-based side has now climbed to the top of the Ghana Premier League standings on 21 points.
