Ghanaian striker Raphael Dwamena marked his debut for Spanish side Levante today as the opened their 2018/2019 La Liga Santander with an away victory. They beat Real Betis by three goals to nothing to run away with all three points.

The former FC Zurich serial killer was introduced into the game on the 90th minute to replace Jason and see out the rest of the game. In a cameo appearance meant to give the forward a feel of the Spanish La Liga, he ended up making the minutes count as he provided a crucial assist for Jose Luis Moraeles who scored Levante’s 3rd goal of the day.

Early on, Levante had taken a 2-0 lead in the first game of the season thanks to goals from Roger Marti and Jose Luis. Dwamena after coming on ensured his side in complete an impressive win at the Estadio Benito Villamarin in Betis.

The Ghanaian striker penned a four year deal with Levante UD worth 2.7 million Euros. The former FC Zurich forward scored 21 goals in 51 appearances last season in the Swiss top flight.

Fellow Ghanaian international Emmanuel Boateng missed the trip to Estadio Benito Villamarin due to an injury. He is however expected to return later this month and hit the ground running after an impressive outing with Levante last season.
