AUG 22, 2016 LISTEN

Three critical saves from young goalkeeper, Razak Abarola was enough for the West African Football Academy (WAFA) to pull a goalless draw against Liberty Professionals on matchday 26 of the 2015/2016 Ghana Premier League at the Carl Reindorf Park in Dansoman, Accra on Sunday, August 21.

Razak Abarola took the shine out of the game in the early stages, taking all the time in this world to walk the ball beyond 30 yards anytime he got possession whiles the Liberty Professionals strikers looked on to the disbelief of the home crowd.

Charles Boateng could have put the ‘Soccer Physicians’ ahead in the 24th minute when Gideon Waja’s floated ball fell before him in the box with only the Liberty goalie to beat but his shot was too weak to score.

Eagle-eyed Razak Abarola stretched himself to his elastic limit in the 41st minute to deny Issa Mohammed from breaking the deadlock, parrying his 20 meter shot to touch.

One can hate WAFA for their delaying tactics, but no man can claim to love football and hate their scintillating passing game as they treated the spectators with some classy movement between Richmond Lamptey, Gideon Waja, Emmanuel Boateng, Caleb Amankwaah, Charles Boateng and Komlan Agbegneidan.

With WAFA dictating the phase of the game, the scientific soccer lads (Liberty Professionals) decided to play high pressing attacking game from the break with Tamimu Muntari, Gerald Arkson, and Daniel Kodie throwing lots of attacking missiles into the goal area of the soccer physicians.

Razak Abarola pulled a stupendous save in the 78th minute to the applause of the spectators as the goalkeeper paddles his legs on the turf.

Abarola again stood between WAFA and goal when he denied substitute, Benjamin Eshun’s header from entering the net to end the game at 0-0.
