ISAAC ABOAGYE Duah and Samuel Ampadu Kyei aka 'Kyikyiss', have been elected as president and vice president respectively, of the Ghana Tennis Federation (GTF), during elections at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Mr. Duah polled 11 votes as against 4, recorded by his closest competitor, Kobby Brew, to win the top position, whilst Kyikyiss was elected unopposed after Kwame Djangba, his competitor, withdrew from the race and endorsed him.

The immediate-past President of the GTF, Justice Ernest Obimpeh resigned from his position and this resulted in an extraordinary meeting where the new executives were elected to steer the affairs of the Federation.

Mr Duah, in his acceptance speech, promised to sustain the splendid works done by his predecessor, adding that his focus would be on youth development “and getting a lot of competitions for tennis players to improve their talents”.

The newly-elected GTF president also assured that he would ensure that the GTF constitution is amended “to recognize the efforts of regions and clubs who actively contribute to the development of tennis in Ghana”.

KyiKyiss, who is the Ashanti Regional vice chairman of the association and also the chairman of the Rebranding Committee of GTF, assured of his readiness to partner the new president-elect to move GTF forward.

He also promised to bring on board the unique example of Mess Tennis, stressing that Mess Tennis' oneness had made them attractive to the corporate world, since government alone cannot support the growth of tennis.
