Tema, June 27, GNA - Forty golfers qualified to represent the Greater Accra Region in the finals of this year's Peugeot Challenge Golf Championship scheduled for the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, July 3.
At the Regional qualifying series held at Tema on Sunday, Koblah Degbe returned 65 net to become the first golfer to be selected for the Prestige Motors Company Limited-sponsored event.
Richard Allotey came second with 67 net, Robert Aziamakpor was third with 68 net, Paul List took the fourth position with 69 net beating Lucky Kwame, Phil MacCaulley and Tom Sem on count-back while William Ankrah laced eighth with 70 net.
In the Ladies event, Florence Etwi-Barimah came first with 71 net beating Beatrice Bempong on count-back, S.J. Haans took the third position with 72 net while Shuppi Mapuranga took the fourth position with 73 net.
35 other golfers who qualified from the Eastern Region and Ashanti Region for the finals at Achimota would join the golfers. The winners in the Men and the Ladies categories will represent Ghana for the Peugeot Challenge Championship scheduled for France in August, this year.
