Florence Wins Silver Division

Lady Scientific Florence Etwi-Barimah, lady captain of Tema Country Golf Club and vice president of the Ghana Ladies Golf Union (GLGU) won the Silver Division title of the Ladies October Monthly Medal competition hosted at the Achimota Golf Club.

Florence, playing to handicap16, returned 75 net, three over par of the course par score of 72, beat Mona Myers-Lamptey a.k.a Captan who returned a rather poor net 82 net.

Nana Bema-Tachie, an executive member of the Ladies Club Committee with 72 net score, claimed the Bronze Ultimate title, beating Vida Sosu Adatsi, 73 net, to the runner up position. Francesca Vandyke, 78 net, and D. Baiden, 79 net, followed in that order.

Lady Captain, Essi Cobbina reiterated her appeal to all club members to be part of the club's monthly medal activities to improve their game.

She commended members of the club especially those friendly partners from Tema for supporting the monthly programmme saying participants are greatly benefiting from the health improvement aspects.

Mrs. Cobbina exhorted members to bring in their non-playing friends to the golfing fraternity.

She reminded members to be active to enable them to fully participate in the up-coming Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB)-sponsored Accra Open Tournament that comes off from the 23rd to 26th of October at the Achimota Golf Course.
