Management of Zain Telecommunication calls on Asantehene

The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has stressed the need for telecommunication operators to develop appropriate technologies to improve on their service delivery to customers.

He said despite an influx of telecommunication operators in the country, service delivery of most of them had not been encouraging.
Otumfuo made the call in an address read on his behalf at the Manhyia Palace on Wednesday, when members of the Board and Management of Zain Telecommunication paid a courtesy call on him.

The visit was to introduce Zain's operations to the Asantehene and inform him of preparations by the company to roll out on the Ghanaian market.

The Asantehene commended the Board and Management for entering the Ghanaian market and said the company's investment would not only create jobs for the people but also help to transfer technology to Ghanaians.

Miss Ursula Owusu, Corporate and External Affairs Director of the Company, announced that Zain would start full operation in the country by the end of the year.

She pledged the company's commitment to efficiency in service delivery adding that education improvement would be a priority in its corporate social responsibility.

The company donated an unspecified amount of money towards the Otumfuo Education Fund.

Other members of the delegation were Mr. Philip Sowah, Country Manager, Madam Hannah Agboso, Legal Director, Mr. Luck Ochieng, Sales Director, Mr Charles Ebiabo Emafo, Marketing Director, Mr. Jim Burns, Roll-Out Director and Mr Kola Sonola, Launch Director.
