LA Galaxy General Manager, Will Kuntz, has delved into the team's acquisition of winger Joseph Paintsil.

The Major League Soccer outfit secured the services of the Ghanaian international from Belgian side KRC Genk during the January transfer window.

Since his arrival at Galaxy, Paintsil has wasted no time in making an impact, netting two goals in seven appearances, and showcasing his prowess on the field.

Kuntz shed light on the rationale behind bringing in the attacking talent, highlighting Paintsil's standing as a top-tier player with the potential for MVP honours and a commendable track record in a fiercely competitive league.

“We were saying, ‘Hey, we’re getting a guy who is a legitimate, MVP-caliber player who’s performed at a very high level in a very good league who’s in his prime,” he told The Athletic.

“Just so many of the right boxes were ticked. That gave us the confidence to go and say, ‘This is our guy," he added.

The signing epitomizes Galaxy's strategic approach to fortifying their squad with top-tier talent.

As Galaxy gears up to take on Vancouver at BC Place on Sunday, with kick-off slated for 02:30 AM, Paintsil is poised to uphold his stellar performance and contribute significantly to the team's ambitions.
