Accra Hearts of Oak will now participate in the Caf Confederations Cup following their elimination from the Champions League.

The Ghana Premier League champions were hoping to secure a place in the group phase of the Champions League under Samuel Boadu.

Having eliminated CI Kamsar in a one-off game, the Phobians were handed a play off game against Wydad Athletic Club.

Hearts of Oak recorded a 1-0 win in the first leg played at the Accra Sports Stadium against the Moroccan powerhouse.

Isaac Mensah scored the only goal of the game after connecting Ibrahim Salifu's impressive cross.

The Phobians walked in the second leg with a slim advantage.

Hearts of Oak were hosted at the Stade V Mohammed on Sunday with no fans at the stadium due to Covid-19.

However, the Moroccan club exhibited some impressive football scoring four goals in the first half at their grounds.

Samuel Boadu and his charges were dismantled by 6-1 at the end of the game to finish the tie 6-2 on aggregate.

Wydad will now make it to the money zone while Hearts of Oak now participate in the Confederations Cup.
