Kumasi, Nov 6, GNA - The first three beneficiaries of the Amakom Calvary Methodist Church scholarship scheme were on Sunday presented with their cheques for two million cedis each to further their education in the senior secondary school.

They are Lawrencia Adu-Poku, Francis Oduro-Boafo and Peter Kwan. Presenting the cheques to the students in Kumasi, the Right Reverend Sampson Yamoah, Superintendent Minister of the church, said the scholarship scheme was part of the church's social responsibility in addition to its spiritual obligations.

He said with the introduction of the scheme, more needy but brilliant children would be supported to pursue their academic education to higher levels.
