Dormaa-West NPP elects new executives

Dormaa-Ahenkro (B/A), Oct. 23, GNA - Mr Mumuni Musah, Managing Director of M.M. Unity Poultry Farm at Dormaa-Ahenkro was at the weekend elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) Constituency chairman for Dormaa-West. At a constituency delegates conference held at Dormaa-Ahenkro, all but one of the constituency's nine existing executive were replaced in an election supervised by officials from the Electoral Commission. The constituency executive who are to run the affairs of the party over the next four years included Mr Kwasi Kyeremeh, First Vice-Chairman Mr Thomas Armstrong Asante, Secretary, Mr Joseph Addai Manu, Treasurer, Oheneba Kofi Badu, Organiser and Ms Agnes Owusu Serwaa, Women Organiser with the incumbent Youth Organizer, S W K Yeboah retaining his position. Addressing the delegates, a Deputy Finance Minister Mr Kwaku Agyemang-Manu exhorted the out-going executive to place their rich experience at the doorstep of the party to enable it to succeed in its bid to win more souls before what he described as "crucial election" in 2008.

Mr Agyemang-Manu tasked office holders at all party levels in the constituency to spread the NPP government's policies and achievements to house-holds for the masses to learn at first hand, efforts being made by the government to alleviate their sufferings.

Squadron-Leader Benjamin Anane Asamoah (RTD.), Dormaa District Chief Executive (DCE), commended the delegates for the peaceful and orderly manner the polls were held adding that the success story marked the beginning of processes towards the NPP's landslide victory, come 2008.

Sqr-Ldr Asamoah appealed to the new executive to discard the erroneous impression that political appointments were goldmines for office holders to exploit to their parochial interest. The new constituency chairman Mr Musah on behalf of his colleagues thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in them and pledged the executive's preparedness to work as a team for the rapid realization of the party's aspirations. Mr Anthony K. Kusi, Brong-Ahafo Regional Secretary of the party swore the new executive into office.
