My First Day At School: Sunyani MCE Tours Schools

Municipal Chief Executive for Sunyani Monday toured some schools in all three zonal councils in the Sunyani Municipality as part of Ghana Education Service’s ‘My first Day At School’.

The day is set aside to welcome young children who are beginning school to generate their interest in education.

Hon. Evelyn Kumi Richardson was accompanied on the tour by Deputy Director of finance administration,Mrs Theresa Kpebu and other personnel of the assembly.

The team visited one school each in the three zonal councils namely, Sunyani, Abesim and Atronie.

They commenced their visit at Sunyani MA Primary School where they recorded 33 new entrants and continued to the Abesim basic school where 76 were enrolled and ended the visit at St. Paul basic school which had 78 new entrants.

Hon Evelyn Kumi Richardson welcomed the little “freshers” and entreated them to consider education as the only way to develop their personalities,society and the nation at large.

She shared with these little ones some benefits that await them should they take their education seriously and also told them of the President’s commitment to developing the individual through education.

The Hon MCE was pleased to see all teachers present during the visit and she encouraged them to keep it up.

She also encouraged them to consider these little ones as the future leaders and give their all with professionalism for the betterment of the country and humanity.

The Hon MCE refreshed the children with kalippo and biscuits and promised to refresh them any time she visits.
