Don’t Flout Code Of Ethics, IICFA-Ghana Cautions Its Members

The Executive Council of International Institute of Certified Forensic Accountants (IICFA-Ghana Chapter) has warned its members not flout the code of ethics and standards of practice of Professional Accounting skills, Investigative skills, Analytical skills, Integrity and Objectivity as they probe the revocation of banking licenses of some banks by the Bank of Ghana.

A caution statement signed by AWUNI AKYIREBA, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of IICFA-Ghana Chapter, explained it is within the purview of its members to conduct forensic investigations into financial improprieties arising out of Fraud, Corruption, Corporate Governance Infractions and issues bothering on public accountability, but this must be done in line with their professional standard.

The caution statement consequently reminded members of IICFA-Ghana that any violation of the professional conduct shall attract serious sanctions, giving the serious view the council takes on the unfortunate happenings in the banking sector.

Notwithstanding, the statement assured the general public of IICFA-Ghana Chapter’s resolve to fighting corruption, fraudulent activities, injustice and institutional weaknesses in order to bring the needed socio economic development to Ghanaians.
