A Tipper truck loaded with sand has run unto a private health facility, Pisgah Advanced Medical Centre at Bechem in the Tano South Municipality of Brong-Ahafo Region.
Four persons sustained various degrees of injuries but the driver, Mr. Kwabena Asare, aged 34 died instantly, Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, the Regional Police Public Relations Officers confirmed to the Ghana News Agency on Wednesday in Sunyani,
He said the body of deceased had been deposited at the Bechem Government Hospital morgue pending autopsy whilst the four injured whose names were not readily available were on admission at the Hospital receiving treatment.
Chief Inspector Oppong stated that the vehicle, a Mercedes Benz with registration number GT 5454-A from Bechem towards Tepa junction developed a fault at a section of the road near the Bechem Police Station and one of its tyres busted while negotiating a curve.
He said the vehicle then veered off the road to crash the health facility, adding that the deceased and the injured persons were rushed to the Bechem government Hospital while the vehicle had since been towed to the Bechem Police Station.
