Franklin Cudjoe, Give Us Convincing Evidence Of Corruption In The Kelni GVG Deal—DI Boss
26.05.2018 LISTEN

I read a piece on Starrfmonline a couple of days ago where the president of imani, Franklin Cudjoe demanded the resignation of the minister for communication, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful. His reason is that the contract is fraudulent, the company has no track record and that the figure involved is huge.

This is what he is purported to have said. According to imani, the contract is fraudulent and must be cancelled. He argues that the company does not have the track record to undertake the job that has been given it adding that the amount is too huge.

I'm scandalized by the above comments by Franklin; what weak argument and reasoning is this? As an analyst I expect him to come out with the specifics of fraud in this deal and I will salute him. For example, what is the basis for saying the amount is huge, what are the detail activities of work to be done, and what is the comparison metric to determine the hugeness of the figure? These are important indicators we should know to intelligently digest and dichotomize his observation, but he didn't tell us in the said interview.

With this kind of narratives, I beg, he is missing the point and I'm tempted to guess that he is up to something.

I frown on, and abhor corruption as most of the citizenry do, but before you label anybody of engaging in fraud or corruption, you should stand on solid and impeccable facts. Produce the evidence, deliberate name calling and labelling should never and must never be substitutes for establishing facts.

Franklin, produce the fraudulent act in this contract, the reasons you've alluded to above are very weak, spurious and suggest something else.

God bless Ghana!
